Our oil production is the highest it’s been in eight years. Our oil imports are the lowest they’ve been in thirteen [years]. So we’re producing a lot of oil, but we’re still subsidizing the oil industry when they’re making billions. And for us to take some of that money and invest in electric cars, new sources of fuel, that’s good for the planet. It helps us deal with climate change. It’s good for our economy. That’s what ultimately is gonna prevent these constant gas price hikes that end up hurting so many people.

Fort Lauderdale Day of Action Canvass Kick Off

I’ve been volunteering with the Obama campaign for nearly 3 months now. I can honestly tell you that the work has been fulfilling to say the least. I’ve met wonderful people that truly do inspire me everyday, and make it fun to volunteer my time every week. Sure it gets hard at times, but at the end of the day, I remember how hard President Obama has worked for us, and I’m reminded why I am IN.

That said, it’s a long road til November 6th, and the way we’re going to re-elect the president is with supporters like YOU. It falls on us to have conversations with our friends, our families, and our neighbors.

If you live in Fort Lauderdale, JOIN IN THIS SATURDAY for a Day of Action (link above). Three shifts available. Bring your friends. No experience necessary. You’ll receive the proper training and materials needed to make you the superstar volunteer you can be.

Ok, I know my timeline has been a little heavy on the Obama-related posts. But as I mentioned before, I got accepted into the spring fellowship program, and it’s taking up 15+ hours of my time every week (and worth every second).

Last night, OFA-FL invited supporters from all across Broward County to be the first to see The Road We’ve Traveled, a short documentary film directed by Davis Guggenheim and narrated by Tom Hanks. There were so many people that came we had to screen it three times to make sure everyone was able to watch. There was applause. There were tears. People left feeling more inspired than ever. And as one of the OFA staffers said to the crowd, “He works so hard for us, we really should be proud to work hard for him”. If you couldn’t make it to a screening last night, you can watch the video embedded in this post.

Get involved. Become a volunteer now and help build the foundation that will help him get re-elected in November.
