Just got a Christmas card and Starbucks gift card from Reggie Bush. You know, NO BIG DEAL.

I am so ready for Christmas right now (I imagine the closer it gets the less spirited I will be…..so I might as well enjoy it while I can….work is only going to get crazier as the holidays near)
My favorite Christmas movie…hands down.
My mom (who reads this Tumblr) told me to “start thinking about what I want for Christmas”. God bless her. I’m 31 years old and she’s still asking me to make a pseudo Christmas list. So I’m going to oblige. Not so much because I expect anything or everything on this list, but to make a mental note for myself if people ask what I want. So in no particular order:

1. Harry Potter: The Complete Collection Years 1-7 on BluRay. Includes all 8 films. Need I say more? Although, I do have a few of the movies and the $80 price tag is a little pricey.

2. The Stella & Dot Glint Flower CZ Earrings (or some variation of). I love them so much that I actually already bought them, but alas, I lost one of the earrings. And the other has mysteriously disappeared on it’s own since. ($39)

3. The War for Late Night. Bill Carter is an excellent NY Times writer and author, so naturally his book about the whole Conan/Leno thing is on my radar. ($11)
4. Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling. I love her as an actress, as a writer, and on Twitter. Her book seems right up my alley. ($15)
5.These boots in 8 1/2. Although I fear I’ll only get to wear them for about 3 weeks in South Florida—though they would come in handy for winter traveling. ($50 at DSW)
6. A denim jacket like the one at Gap ($30-love the dark wash) or Old Navy ($27.50) in Medium.
7. Perfume. I love Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B (retails for $31 on Amazon, but can find it at Marshall’s for $20) or SJP NYC (retails for $25, again, seen it cheaper at Marshall’s).
I’m sure I could go on and on, but I should probably think of what to buy others instead of myself.
I know it’s December 23rd and time is of the essence, but if you’re stumped on what to get the person who has everything, bake! This also works well for co-workers (which is exactly why I baked last night and brought them in this morning).
I made some yummy chocolate chip cookies and Oreo truffles (no bake!) and put them in a holiday container mixed in with some store-bought sugar cookies and leftover Oreos (from said truffles).

I wanted to make the winter-infused vodka recipe my friend Christine sent me, but I didn’t have time to make it before Christmas (maybe for New Years)? I’ll try and post the recipe soon.
If you want to make the Oreo truffles, you can find the recipe here. Requires NO baking and only about half an hour prep time!

I don’t get to go home for Christmas this year, so I did all of my shopping online. Either way, actually the better way to go. No hassle, no lines, you can have everything gift wrapped and delivered right to their doorstep.
So I went back to NYC again this past weekend (yes, again). Here’s my trip in photos:

Near Chinatown for brunch.

The 3 Musketeers (we were waiting for the 4th).

Normally I avoid Rock Center like the plague…especially around Christmas. But the tourist in me won out. I mean, it’s Christmas!
christmas eve snow in dallas! the video!
(video courtesy of my mom’s fiancé.)
look at the snow in dallas! this is my mom’s house. it looks so pretty! have i mentioned i’m jealous?
this isn’t the first time i haven’t gone home for christmas, but the difference is that i was in a relationship, so i wasn’t “alone” so to speak. what’s funny is that even though i’m not home and i’m sad about it, i don’t feel “alone”. do i wish i had a significant other? i’d be lying if i said no, but i’m actually ok. i hung out with one of my friends tonight and my dog and watched a few dvds with them. and tomorrow, i’ll be with the same friends that i spent the thanksgiving holiday. so all in all, i can’t complain. many people in the world have it much worse, but i’m pretty blessed.
my one gripe about spending christmas in south florida? it’s 80 degrees, not cold, and not snowing. boo.

even as a child, i was excited to get a fancy new dress.

my aunts might kill me for posting this photo and my grandmother might rollover in her grave, but i thought it deserved a little attention. note the christmas sweaters! had i known i’d be attending ugly christmas sweater parties as an adult, i would’ve asked them to hang onto them.
here’s a photo of me and my co-worker with santa claus and his helpers (i.e. cheerleaders) at our work holiday party last night.
and yes, i got a haircut. :)
