What do tomatoes, basil, mozzarella, and corn muffins have in common? They’re all key ingredients in today’s kitchen concoction: Caprese Corn Muffin Sandwiches.
YUM.

August Restaurant @ NYC
I went to dinner here with a boyfriend once. DELICIOUS. Cute hidden gem and the ambiance is amazing.
A new bakery has opened in midtown.
Pie Face!!
Pies, sausage rolls, lamingtons!! With real Australians serving you that say tom-ah-to sauce rather than tom-ay-to ketchup!
I stood beside an English guy at the counter. We both ordered sausage rolls, looked at each other & grinned.
Welcome to the hood, Pie Face! You’re a welcome addition. Just in time for Australia Day tomorrow.
(Although $4.35 for a sausage roll is daylight robbery).
53rd & Broadway.
MUST visit next time I’m in NYC.

Almonds. Broccoli. Chicken. Vitamin D. Eggs.
The five things I will be consuming for the next two weeks on my self-created ABCDE Diet. No carbs, sugars, processed food or alcohol. It will be tough, but rewarding.
Who wants to try it with me?
I think I may try this (like Brit, starting January 3rd). Not sure I’ll be able to do it, but let’s do this.
I don’t even remember how many times I’ve mentioned this to my friends here in Florida through out the year. And every time I’d get the same wide-eyed, stunned reaction: “Your friend is doing WHAT?”
That’s right. A guy I (indirectly) used to work with at VH1 decided that his new year’s resolution for 2011 would be to eat 2,011 wings before the year’s end. Sounds crazy, right? Hell, I even had my doubts. But you know what, HE DID IT. Not only did he achieve his goal…he did it ahead of schedule. And now, his goal for 2012…to get inducted into the Hall of Flame. And you can help him get there.

You can read all about his wing-tastic year on his website, Facebook, or Twitter feed. You’ll read about the kinds of wings he ate in different locales. And how he even landed a sponsorship deal. And the icing on the cake…he LOST WEIGHT (with minimal workouts…lucky bastard). I guarantee you’ll be come fan. And after you do, go to this website and send an e-mail to info@buffalowing.com to nominate The Ultimate Wingman for consideration. I mean, the man ate over 2,000 wings. Let’s make this happen.

I’ve written about my friend Serena’s delicious morsels before, but now I have every right to brag about how amazing they are. On Christmas Eve (how appropes), I received a hand delivered (!) package from my local postal worker and to my surprise, it was from Austin, Texas. I just KNEW they were bon bons. Well, that at the stamp and Serena’s handwriting tipped me off.
Listen, Serena and I have known each other for quite a few years now. Now that I think about it, TEN YEARS to be exact since I met her as an intern in 2001. But we’re not here to go down memory lane. We’re here to talk desserts, and specifically bon bons. While I hadn’t had the chance to order any or try them since Serena opened up shop in the fall, I have been to many a parties hosted by Serena and her baking (and cooking) is simply divine. So, fast forward to when I open up the adorable packaging and find the “classic collection” inside (i.e. one of each bon bon that Serena makes with love). I have to say I was somewhat partial to the Susie Q bon bon since it’s topped with espresso beans, but the original matriarch was pretty damn good as well. Honestly, it was hard to choose a favorite because they are all really that good.
So next time you want to surprise someone with a special treat or even a business gift, cupcakes are soooo 2011 and cookies are boringsville. Try Bon Bons by Serena. Although located in Austin, they ship anywhere. You won’t be disappointed.

Let me just put it out there: I’m a “grab-and-go” fan when it comes to breakfast. For the past few months, I’ve been microwaving egg beaters and usually adding salsa on top. If I was in a hurry to get out the door, I’d sometimes even put the eggs in a plastic cup, grab a plastic fork, and head out the door.
Yep, that’s been my breakfast, every day. But today, I realized that I could save even more time in my mornings (including less clean-up time) by making EGG MUFFINS. I really can’t believe I hadn’t made these before - they are so easy!
I simply poured egg beaters into a greased cupcake pan, then added whatever toppings I felt like - some have mushrooms, some have veggies, and I also made some with turkey. After I had baked them in the oven at 375-degrees for 30 minutes and let them cool, I just popped them into plastic bags so that I can grab them easily in the morning.
I’m not an expert chef by any means, but if you’re looking to save time in your day, here’s a fool-proof way to do it.
LOVE this idea.

Mason Jar meals could be an awesome new “meals on the go” business. How cool would it be to get a weekly delivery of these?
I LOVE this idea.
Andrea passed this along and I had to share with you all because it sounds just delightful.

My friend Michael Cyril Creighton and I go way back - back to the days when we dressed up as holiday characters together for our special editions of Best Night Ever at Vh1. Ah, the good ol’ days. But now we each have our own web series, and we thought it was about time for another collabo.

Our friends over at POGO Events have a pretty awesome Saturday planned for August 7th. The Amazing Taste of Brooklyn will certainly be an Amazing Race, minus zip-lining through a jungle. You will, however, experience an adventure of taste as the race takes…
Attention NYC foodies/adventurers!
Locally made, high quality, great tasting. Those are just some ways to describe confections from The Madelaine Chocolate Company. Located in Far Rockaway, Queens, they’ve been family-owned and operated since the thirties, and certainly take pride in both their roots and their chocolate. We here at Hungry in Brooklyn were lucky enough come across a staggering amount of Madelaine’s goodies.

Whole Wheat Pasta (Taken with Instagram at Lilly’s New Cuisine)
I had a Groupon that was one week from expiration to Lilly’s New Cuisine in Boca Raton. So I did what any girl would do…call up her friends and invited them to a Saturday night Italian dinner. As soon as we walked into the restaurant, it smelled DIVINE and my hunger intensified times 1,000.
We started off with a bottle of Pinot Noir, then we each ordered our own dishes. Me and my friend opted for the whole wheat pasta with chicken and sausage (above), the other two ordered lobster and crab ravioli, and the whole wheat pasta with earthy sauce. All in all, a fantastic dinner with great company. It’s a small and quaint place, perfect for a date night or dinner with the family. I would definitely go back.

Boeing 747-8 flight crew flies 2,500 miles for Primanti Bros. That’s a serious case of the munchies. [Source: Clean Plate Charlie]
Ok, Primanti Bros. is good, but not “fly 2,500 miles across the country ‘cause I have a craving” good.
