Once again, Fort Lauderdale area women came out to make a difference on this statewide Day of Action! Remember, no matter what state you’re in, you can also get involved with the campaign.

Tonight I hosted a Women for Obama meeting at my home. Not only was it a great way to connect with women in the area who support our President and want to volunteer for his re-election campaign. But we also got to listen on a conference call with First Lady Michelle Obama.

Even though I’ve been volunteering for a few weeks, hearing her voice made it all the more real. So much that I got a little teary eyed. I am fired up and ready to go, and so are these 10 area women!

For a number of years, Michele Bachmann’s personal website had a list of books she recommended people read. … I was looking over the list and noticed this biography of [Robert E.] Lee by [Steven] Wilkins. [I had] never heard of Wilkins and started looking at who he was. And frankly couldn’t believe that she was recommending this book. … It is an objectively pro-slavery book and one of the most startling things I learned about her in this piece.
On today’s Fresh Air, New Yorker writer Ryan Lizza talks about the books, writers and beliefs that have shaped Michele Bachmann. (via nprfreshair)

That was shorter than when Lodwick quit the Internet!

I was fairly incensed after watching John Boehner spoke last night, mostly because he negated to mention any specifics of his plan and blamed Obama (who, to be fair, hasn’t exactly been kicking ass since taking office) for hiking the deficit up 35% since November ‘08. Thank you, New York Times, for once again illustrating the hole that we have to climb out of thanks in large part to the policies of George Dubya Jackanapes.

Get your tickets now or be left in the dustbin of history.

This, like Brian Williams’ smile, is gonna be great.

I wish I could attend this. For BriWi, to support TFG, but mainly so Ii could get one of those awesome campaign buttons.

What a curious campaign…

I fully endorse this campaign (even if it’s fake).

A Baldwin spokesman told the Daily News that the actor, who has a long-standing interest in politics and seeking a political office, was considering a run. “I wouldn’t rule it out,” rep Matthew Hiltzik said.

By now you know Alec Baldwin is apparently mulling a run for mayor of New York City, and before you go dismissing him on account of his notoriety, keep in mind that folks like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Al Franken, and Jesse Ventura have all won public office despite such concerns. Also, that Baldwin voice is smooth enough to sell me hot chocolate on a 130-degree day.

I got to go on CNN Newsroom this morning to talk about this article I wrote for CNN.com

Read the article for a list of memes I enjoy, but watch the video to watch my brain shut down over whether the phrase “Obama gets his groove back” is offensive.  (2:48)

This is my awesome friend Eric. When I lived in NYC, he recruited me to be a part of a political comedy group he co-founded called The Full Ginsburg. He is all growns up now and is a regular contributor to CNN every week (and he wrote an opinion piece for them this week on Obama’s upcoming campaign)!

Side note, he also wrote “No Homo”, a funny video that was posted on Funny or Die this week. I’d say Eric is having the Best Week Ever!
